Martin G Scarpino - CEO of SwissCham in Australia

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham Australia

Since Mid March 2017 I have the the honour to be at the helm of SwissCham. Many Members may recall my involvement with the former Swiss Chamber (Sacci) as a non Executive Board Member from 2002 to 2008 as the honorary Treasurer. 

I grow up in the border town of Kreuzlingen/TG where I did all my schools and basic education. I then acquired my degree during my time with Ernst and Young as "eidg. dipl Treuhand Experte". In 1997, exactly 20 years ago I migrated with my family to Australia. As the former MD at Leica Australia, I was then promoted to join Leica in Singapore (2009 to 2013). From there I joined another swiss company SWISSRAY in Taipei as VP Sales APAC. At the End of 2015 I returned to Australia and after some soul searching I set up my own company. In early March 2017 I was asked to join SwissCham as the new CEO, as Marcel Svatos, who did a great job over the last, nearly 10 years, decided to move on. 

In my private time, I enjoy singing in a choir and riding my BMW motorbike through the endless and beautiful land of down under.

I look forward to the next stage in SwissCham and to continue provide a superior member experience and with a clear focus to further grow the membership and make the membership of SwissCham something, that all  Swiss Companies in Australia highly desire. Being a part of SwissCham is not just a cost, its part of identity and proud connection.

Maybe fewer, but higher quality networking events,  in a time of high engagement at all level of Management is the  sign and the clear trend of the time.
